I've so many photos to work through from my time in Dingle. It's such a picturesque town, with so much of its original built heritage and character still intact. Maintained, loved...lived in.

It struck me how great it is that such an inaccessible little town, way out at the extremities, can not only be surviving...but thriving.  

So many rural Irish towns have been put to the sword recently; bypassed places with supermarket outskirts...strangling the small shops and business in the town itself. The young folk leave, the town gets old, the lights stay off. 

Dingle is not that. Dingle is a hive of activity. I know it's all tourism, and there's a whole other conversation to be had about that...but I was just heartened do see a well preserved town in rural Ireland, doing well for itself. It makes a change.
