Adam & Eve

August 3, 2017

From St. Audeon's Terrace.

1836, by James Bolger.

It was built on the site of a much earlier church. I'd always heard that the church got its name because, prior to Catholic emancipation, people used to disguise the fact that they were going to mass by entering the church secretly through a tavern called Adam & Eve, on Merchant Quay.
