One of the oldest churches, on North Main Street, one of the oldest streets in the city. There are records mentioning Saint Peter’s going all the way back to the 13th Century. The current building was completed in 1788, and sold into private hands in 1949, after which time it fell into disrepair. It was restored by Cork Corporation and went on to house the Cork Vision Centre, which opened in 1998.
